Am I suitable?

Am I suitable for The Migraine Guy treatment?

The Migraine Guy Clinic has a simple but concise selection criteria.

Selection criteria

If you experience head pain during your migraine, and the head pain gets worse when you bend your head forward, then this treatment may help you.

When this treatment would not be appropriate

Drawing from clinical trial exclusion criteria — a reasonable proxy for real-world caution — the treatment would not be appropriate in the following circumstances:

  • History of severe neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, or hepatic disorders.
  • History of cerebrovascular accident, convulsions, severe coronary disease, or uncontrolled hypertension.
  • Psychosis, suicidal ideation, or suicide attempts.
  • Secondary headache disorders — headaches caused by an underlying condition (tumour, infection, vascular issue) rather than primary migraine.
  • Any abnormal structural damage or malformations — skull fractures, cranial deformities.
  • Iatrogenic causes: medication-based migraines include acute pain medications, contraceptive medications/HRT, antidepressants and heart/blood vessel drugs.

Post-treatment advice

Immediately following your consultation, there are no specific guidelines to follow. You may wish to rest or take some moderate exercise or activity.

We will ask that you begin exposing yourself to known migraine triggers. It's important you begin to build confidence and trust in yourself and see that your treatment has been successful.

Important note

If you have a migraine on the day of your appointment, please do NOT reschedule. We have provided treatment to many clients in the midst of a migraine on the day of their appointment, always with a positive outcome.
